Free intenet access should be a matter of course in 2012.
There is no correlation between the quality of the room (tiny room, and I really mean tiny - nowhere to sit and relax, bulb in bathroom lanmp should be replaced, tea pot connection to the socket - you have to go on your knees to find the socket under the desk, snacks - crackers, short bread etc to go with the tea).

Ci è stato consegnato materiale ( cartina di Londra, pubblicità mostra di gauguin, etc.) al momento di ripartire: forse sarebbe stato più utile all'arrivo. Lo abbiamo interprettato come invito a ritornare!

The Gainsborough Hotel needs to sort out your water heating system, so hot water is guaranteed. We were badly affected one evening when rain had flooded the basement without staff having noticed the flood nor the subsequent short circuit created in the hot water system. Night staff were inadequate in their response to our enquiry as to the reason of the absence of hot water. It was only our insistence that made staff look into the problem.
Also, in the room, there were not enough sockets in places where they were needed. A guest should not have to grapple with multi-blocks hidden behind the fridge, nor should anyone have to move the kettle to the bedside table in order to reach a socket.
